    Department of Biotechnology, I.T.S Paramedical College, Muradnagar organized 6th Annual Workshop “BiotechniX-2017: Tools & Techniques in Biotechnology”. Students from 5 different Schools of Ghaziabad and Muradnagar participated in the Workshop. Students performed Hands-on experiments on different modules designed for them. Hands-on training on Total RBCs count, Isolation of DNA from plant cells, Recombinant DNA Technology, Agarose Gel Electrophoresis, Plant Tissue Culture, Laminar Air Flow work station, Computational Biology and Bioinformatics were performed under able guidance ship of the faculty members of the department.

    Department of Biotechnology, I.T.S Paramedical College, Muradnagar organized a seminar on “Transforming the Life with the Magic of Mind” on 5th Dec 2017. The invited speakers were Dr. Anuj Agarwal and Dr. Sunil Kumar. Dr. Anuj is a motivational speaker and delivers lectures on various topics related to our everyday life. He delivered seminar on Understanding and Managing Life as a Pyramid. Dr. Sunil Kumar as a professional motivator conducted various thought provoking training sessions particularly for the students to share his huge experience & knowledge to help them to achieve their goals successfully. The students learned Visual-Auditory-Kinesthetic (VAK) learning styles model which provides a simple way to explain and understand learning styles.

    Seminar on “Inside and Outside Air Quality” on the occasion of “World Environment Protection Day” 26th Nov 2017. World Environment Protection Day is celebrated on 26th November every year to raise global awareness of the need to take positive actions to protect environment. Seminar session was organized by the students of B.Sc. (Biotechnology) I, II and III year and M.Sc. (Biotechnology) I & III Semester students. Students presented their PPTs and various topics related to environment and discussed about the current concerns and measures being taken by different agencies and government bodies. Air Pollution being caused by burning crackers, vehicle emission, industry emission etc. were the main topics discussed by the students. Every faculty and student present in the seminar hall took pledge to go green and save our planet.

    “BiotechniX-2017: Biotechnology Awareness Program” was organized on 24th Nov, 2017 in Chaya Public School, Modinagar. Dr. Pallavi Mittal and Mrs. Charu Kaushik presented PPTs and interacted with the students. They informed the students about Biotechnology as a subject and also what are the career and future opportunities available for the students. The students were also informed about the recent researches that are going on in labs and also current discoveries that has been done in the field of life sciences particularly in Biotechnology.

    On 18th Nov 2017 Department of Biotechnology, I.T.S Paramedical College, organized Intra-Departmental Sports Day. Students from all the batches participated in various events like: athletics, shot-put, volley ball, throw ball, kho-kho, cricket, football, chess, carom etc. It was a great enjoyment for the students and they participated with full joy. The events filled in the hearts of everyone with the spirit of sportsmanship and unity. Fitness test was also conducted for the students.

    On 14th Nov, 2017 M.Sc. (Biotechnology) III Sem students from Department of Biotechnology, I.T.S Paramedical College visited Centre for Environment Science and Climate Resilient Agriculture (CESRA) Division of Indian Agricultural Research Institute (I.A.R.I) New Delhi for Academic Tour. The Center has ambitious programme of collaborating with the public, private and civil society organizations to develop and demonstrate the technologies on-farm and promote them to enhance resilience of Indian agriculture and improve the livelihood of farmers. Students were benefited in many ways. Dr. D K Sharma Principal Scientist interacted with the students and discussed on Environment and Climate Change.

    On 6th Nov, 2017 a Seminar cum Workshop on “Motivation: Need of Today’s Student” was organized by the Department of Biotechnology. The invited speaker was Mrs. Rachna Kakkar. Mrs. Kakkar has good experience of Psycho Counseling students of various disciplines. Theme of the workshop was motivation which is very much required for the college going students. Motivation is a major factor which is very helpful in shaping their career and future especially for those students who consider themselves weak and go into the phase of depression. Mrs. Kakkar interacted with the students and through her PPTs and lecture motivated them for positive thinking and to succeed in life. She also discussed on overcoming stress factors which is the major cause of depression in younger generation.

    On 3rd Nov, 2017 Department of Biotechnology organized a Seminar on “Role of Printed and Digital Information System in Biotechnology” in association with Biotech Express. Mr. Kamal Pratap Singh, Managing Editor of Biotech Express was the invited speaker who delivered a very interesting lecture. He informed the students about role of information system in which he included the journals, magazines, websites, blogs and other information system available for the students. He also informed about the junk materials available in the digital information system and how to avoid them. Students were very benefited by the seminar especially with the interaction session in which Mr. Singh interacted with the students and answered their questions.

    "This event was to orient faculty members on the emerging trend of Home Health Care in India. A team of resource persons lead by Dr. Gagan Kapoor, Head-Physiotherapy Services -Health Care at Home Pvt. Ltd (from the promoters of
     Dabur) conducted the FDP. Dr. Gagan Kapoor brief about the rapidly growing business of Home Health and its scope. He talked about the practices adopted in his company and how systems are being developed. Dr. Ridhima Gupta explained about Electronic Reporting and its intricacies.Dr. Alok Kumar Jha talked about Consent Forms and importance. Overall the session was a good learning experience for the Faculty Members.
